Last night I received an email warning of things predicted to soon happen in the US. And certainly there are not many of us who do NOT see warning signs of judgment on the horizon. At the very least, we agree that we, as a nation, deserve it!
Surely we may face difficult days in the future; even harder than now. So, just in case you find yourself in need of a boost this morning, perhaps feeling a bit “spiritually under the weather,” I thought I would share some of my “spiritual antibiotics stash” with you. Take one of each with plenty of Living Water as many times as necessary. They are wide spectrum, and it is impossible to overdose! And, like the widow’s oil, the stash is miraculously never depleted!
Our God/Yahweh is:
King of Kings Lord of Lords Mighty Warrior Prince Of Peace
My Shield High Tower My Deliverer One Who Saves
Righteous Judge Counselor Ancient of Days Babe in a Manger
Good Shepherd Everlasting Father Lamb of God Creator
Sustainer Redeemer Friend Brother
Bridegroom Light of the World Living Water Tree of Life
Word of God Manna from Heaven Holy One of Israel My Strength
Mighty Fortress Avenger of Blood King Forever My Allotted Portion & My Share
My Guide My Advisor My Stronghold The Horn of My Salvation
Master of War Doer of Wonders My Healer My Miracle
God of Truth Master of Legions King of Glory The One Who Raises my Head
The Mighty & Strong The Great I Am The I Shall Be The Merciful One
Does our unchanging God continue to function in these roles on our behalf today? Perhaps it would do each of us well to spend time meditating on His many roles in our daily lives.
And just in case you sometimes suffer with spiritual anxiety syndrome, I am also anxious to share my stash of spiritual anxiolytics with you. WARNING: They are ADDICTING!
AND HE:
Caused the sun to stand still Caused a donkey to talk
Brought forth water from a rock Sent manna from heaven
Fed thousands with almost nothing Caused a coin to appear in the mouth of a fish
Caused the lame to walk Restored sight to the blind
Raised the dead Cleansed the leprous
Turned water to wine Rained down doves for food
Preserved Daniel in the lion’s den Dispatched ravens to feed Elijah
Healed the sick Caused the widow’s oil to be replenished
Transported Jonah in a fish to exactly where he needed to go
Caused the walls of Jericho to crumble at the sound of the rams’ horn
Protected three boys in a fiery furnace and their clothes did not even smell of smoke
Lead the Children of Israel with a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night, and that pillar moved between them and the approaching Egyptian army
He provided shoes for the journey; shoes that did not wear out during 40 years of wandering
Placed Joseph, Moses, Esther and Sarah, each in palaces of the enemy in order to provide protection for His people
Caused Gideon and his tiny army to defeat a mighty army of thousands
Split the sea and destroyed the mighty Egyptian army
Sent animals from all over the world to a man building an ark on dry land which had never before received rain
Provided fire from heaven to burn up not only the sacrifice, but the water as well
Gave light to His people, while upon their enemies He sent the darkest darkness
Sent messengers to Abram to warn him of impending judgment, and messengers to take Abram’s nephew, Lot, and his family by the hand to remove them from harm’s way
Protected Rahab, (a harlot), and her family from destruction
Put fear into the hearts of the enemy
Caused a giant to fall with one small stone in the hand of a shepherd boy
Defeated Armies as long as one old man held his arms high
Is our Mighty God still mighty today? Has He lost any of His strength? Then what do we fear?
And we could each add more, both from the Scripture and from our own lives. Certainly our “Shepherd Boy” can smite any Goliath we face!!!
Ahhhhh….doesn’t that feel good?
Is He OBLIGATED to rescue us??? NOOOOOOO! But, oh how He desires to protect that which belongs to Him!!! Our obligation – simply to walk in His ways, listen for His voice, and agree that everything He does is righteous!
Psa 118:4 Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 5 I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. 6 The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? 7 The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me. 8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. 9 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. 10 All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them. 11 They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. 12 They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. 13 Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the LORD helped me. 14 The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.
Today if you are anxious about impending judgment in America or about other problems (whether financial woes, health issues, or relationship struggles), or whatever your “Goliath” may be at this time, be encouraged! Take your spiritual antibiotics to build up your spiritual immune system so that you can weather whatever is ahead. Become addicted to your spiritual anxiolytics, and remember the following verses. Perhaps He will open our eyes that we, too, may see chariots of fire!
2Ki 6:15 The attendant of the man of God was early to arise and he set out, when behold, an army was surrounding the city, with horse and chariot. His attendant said to him, “Alas, my master, what shall we do?” 16 Elisha said, “Fear not, for we have more with us than they have with them!” 17 Elisha then prayed and said “YHVH, please open up his eyes that he may see!” YHVH then opened up the attendant’s eyes and he saw that, behold the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire, all round Elisha.
2Ki 7:4 If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us throw ourselves upon the camp of Aram; if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die. 5 And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Arameans: and when they arrived at the edge of the Aramean camp, behold, there was no man there. 6 For the Lord had caused the Aramean camp to hear the noise of chariots, and the noise of horses, even the noise of a great army: and they said to one another, Behold, the king of Israel has hired against us the Hittite kings, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come against us. 7 So they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their donkeys, and left the camp as it was, and fled for their lives.
Certainly, we should be wise. We should be diligent. We should be listening. We should be obedient. But one thing we definitely should NOT be….is in fear!
Today, may you be blessed with seeing the fiery chariots that surround you. May your enemies be blinded. May they be frightened away by the great noise of the Host of the Mighty Warrior as He rushes in to defend you!!! And may you stay always safe within the camp of the Most High God!
*****Just a note. This was originally written in October of 2012, and yet it is fresh today. Similar emails to the one that originally inspired this writing, continue to arrive, year after year. But they all boil down to this – We do not know when. We do not know how. But we do know Who walks by our side. HalleluYAH!
I leave you with a present which I sincerely hope you will enjoy. It begins in beautiful Hebrew, with English lyrics commencing at about 1’49”. I consider it a strong dose of spiritual Xanax.
